Together with a Scrum team, you’ll transform raw ship data into actionable insights, from fuel consumption to emissions. You’ll combine hands-on coding with strategic input on scalable data architecture. And the best part? Sometimes, you’ll see your solutions come to life literally on board.

- Always a permanent position, no temporary projects
- Direct employment with our clients is possible
- Hybrid working with at least 2 days on-site in Gorinchem
- More than 40 vacation days based on a full-time contract

- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5–12 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Data Architect
- Experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of PowerShell is a strong plus (due to existing scripts)
- Experience with IoT or sensor data is a bonus
- You are independent, proactive, and able to clearly justify your decisions
- You communicate fluently in English (both spoken and written)
- Experience working in Scrum teams, consultancy, or project-based environments is a plus
- Interest in sustainability and technology, ideally with an affinity for the maritime sector

- Develop scalable data pipelines using Azure Synapse, Python, and PySpark
- Build a sustainable and intelligent data infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code
- Process, model, and interpret real-time sensor data from ships
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Product Owners
- Advise on data architecture, scalability, and performance
- Provide technical direction to the team and mentor less experienced colleagues
- Occasionally step on board ships to see your solutions in action firsthand
