As a Senior Systems Test Engineer (medical device software tester / system verification engineer) in Best, you verify medical device software in combination with an interventional X-ray system, with a strong focus on image quality. You translate system requirements into measurable, automated test cases and judge whether a release is ready for use in the hospital.

For a leading health technology company in the Eindhoven region, Trinamics is looking for an experienced systems test engineer for the Systems Engineering department of an R&D organisation that develops image-guided therapy systems. The team works on system design, system verification, usability and validation, together with colleagues in India and other teams worldwide. The systems support physicians in cardiovascular, oncological and neurological treatments.

You work full-time in a hybrid setup: on average three days at the office in Best and two days from home.

Must-haves

  • A degree in Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Senior-level experience in verification of medical device software, Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), healthcare technology or another regulated domain.
  • Experience with requirement-based verification, risk-based testing, system integration testing or release verification.
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD), defect triage, test management systems and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with test automation and AI.
  • You are comfortable working in a regulated environment and communicate fluently in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with X-ray systems and/or image quality testing.
  • Experience with medical device software in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Experience with threat modelling and setting up test automation frameworks.
  • Experience guiding or coaching junior test engineers.

  • You translate system requirements into well-defined, measurable (automated) test cases that cover functionality, interactions and edge cases.
  • You develop system test scripts, choosing the most effective scripting languages and tools for the test framework and the system's complexity.
  • You identify system-level risks through threat modelling and system analysis, and design test scenarios that catch defects early.
  • You execute functional, integration and regression tests according to test plans, manually and/or automated.
  • You test medical device software on image quality in combination with an interventional X-ray system.
  • You analyse test results, diagnose root causes through systematic debugging, and monitor requirement coverage, test execution and defect closure.
  • You work closely with developers and other engineers to resolve defects quickly, with clear and detailed defect reports.
  • You take part in system integration and help judge release readiness and quality from a testing perspective.
  • You help build test automation frameworks and reusable test scripts for repetitive tasks.
  • You keep up with the latest system testing methods and tools and coach junior colleagues in the team.
