My name is Burak, I am a little over forty and have been living in the Netherlands for 3.5 years with my lovely wife and our four children. So I am busy every day raising 4 rascals but I also enjoy it very much. We usually find a large family very cozy and in any case it is never boring!
I enjoy working to deliver products and services, especially within technical project management. I work closely with my team and stakeholders and support them during the development process. My strength lies in bringing people and ideas together to achieve a good end result, this is what I have enjoyed doing for the past 8 years.
I started out as a researcher and teaching assistant. Then I moved more into the technical side, with a focus on mechanical engineering. I worked with international teams, including in China, and was responsible for project management for about 5 years. Later I returned to Turkey and worked on electric vehicles from Ford for 2 years. Finally I ended up coming to the Netherlands in 2022, where I again lead projects, including a heavy engine project and another project in collaboration with a team in Mexico and Australia. So largely I have worked in automotive and engine development for a total of 17 years.
I always try to think from the perspective of others and I am a good listener. I prefer to support people rather than impose something on them. I also have a technical background, which allows me to think along with engineers in terms of content. I am also solution-oriented: the result is more important to me than the process itself. I enjoy working on projects that involve starting up something new or introducing something new to a market.
Yes, I was involved in a project where we introduced a product to the truck market in China. I also worked on a large and important project for DAF that involved electrifying vehicles. It was technically and commercially challenging, and it had a lot of impact. It was one of the most important projects I worked on.
They appreciate my support, my open communication and the fact that I am technically savvy. I enjoy working together in a team and making sure I understand things before making decisions.
Let's start with the fact that I am open to many things. Ideally, I am looking for a full-time job in project management, preferably in a technical field. Ideally, I would like to work partly on site (3 days) and partly at home (2 days).
In Helmond, near Eindhoven. Traveling within the Netherlands is fine for me. Of course I would prefer to walk to work, but if we look at it realistically I am willing to travel 1 hour to work.
Respect. I highly value respectful interactions with colleagues, regardless of position or background. A positive atmosphere is more important to me than an impressive office building. I would also like to be able to make an impact and grow within an organization.
Spending time with my family and being busy gardening especially when the weather is nice of course.
I have a strong technical background, but I also feel at home in project management. I am flexible, eager to learn and I always give my all no matter what the challenge.
I am fluent in Turkish and English, a little Dutch and very little Chinese. I also learned some German once. Dutch I am still learning.
Definitely. Teamwork is very important to me. Irregular working hours are not a problem for me either, especially when it comes to international projects.
I stand back to understand the situation by taking a quiet breath, and then try to come to a solution as quickly as possible. I always try to keep an overview, especially in project management, where calm and structure are the basis.
