Engineer Electrical Power Systems

This company is specialized in the integration of electrical and automation systems for naval vessels, submarines, and luxury superyachts. This is a challenging and constantly evolving field, where every project is a unique and custom-made solution for our clients. As a System Integrator you'll work within one of our engineering departments, where our team provides expert system integration, electrical design, and automation services for both new construction projects and upgrades on board luxury superyachts, naval vessels, and submarines..

As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you're responsible for distributing energy up to 2500 KW on luxury yachts. You design low voltage power distribution boards, emergency switchboards, and lighting distributions based on project specifications and discussions with internal and external stakeholders. You're responsible for the basic design and functional specification of the power plant, applying synchronization devices, load sharing devices, protection devices, transformers, UPS systems, voltage & cos phi regulators, and more in your designs. You also perform short-circuit calculations AC&DC, arc flash calculations, load calculations, cable calculations, and strength calculations. Your designs comply with EMC standards, classification agencies, and applicable norms and regulations. Your daily tasks include:

• Designing the power plant independently;
• Supporting designs with various calculations;
• Ensuring certification by institutions

For the role of Engineer Electrical Power Systems, we are looking for an experienced, self-motivated engineer who enjoys and has experience in designing large, complex electrical installations. Working experience in ship installation engineering is a plus, and having a affinity with the maritime world and yachts is a must. You work in a structured and meticulous manner and are able to work both independently and as part of a team. Furthermore, we require:

• Higher vocational working and thinking level;
• Experience in working with Eplan P8 and SKM Powertools;
• Good communication, both written and verbal in Dutch and/or English.
