Rick celebrates his 5th anniversary

Rick fulfills the role as team lead in the Research & Development division. He started as a Recruitment Consultant at Trinamics in 2017 and has made great strides in his career at Trinamics over the past five years.

Rick is always in for a joke and with his creative brain he always comes up with something fun to make his colleagues laugh. Outside of Trinamics, he is a guitarist and accompanies various artists, both in the studio and during live performances. Soon a new phase in his life will start, Rick and his girlfriend are expecting their first child in March!

Rick, how did you end up at Trinamics?
I graduated in 2017 from the NHTV (nowadays BUAS) in Breda. During my graduation, a fellow student of mine told me that he had found a job at Trinamics. I didn't know it, but it sounded like a nice company. The next day I received a call from the branch manager (at the time) of Trinamics Breda if I would like to come for an interview. A week later I signed my contract and my adventure at Trinamics started.

What are your activities within Trinamics?
I hold the position of Teamlead within the Research & Development (R&D) division. This division focuses on candidates and customers who are specialized in the development of new technical products for machines, vehicles, robots, etc.

We have many clients who have huge open positions and many candidates from all over the world looking for a job in this industry. Our recruitment consultants are account managers for one or more clients and mediate these candidates. In my position I manage a team of Recruitment Consultants, Account Manager(s) and Recruiter(s) in their daily work, I monitor the strategic importance of our division and Trinamics in general and I also participate operationally. A position with many tasks and responsibilities.

How do you experience the function?
I think it's one of the best jobs in the profession. You are strategically active and you have responsibility for the functioning and development of your colleagues, with whom you have a close relationship (especially at Trinamics). On the other hand, I still talk to candidates and manage a number of clients, so I still get everything operational, too.

How do you look back on the past 5 years?
Like a special period. I started when I was 24 and now 30. A lot happens during that age, for example I went from student to a full-time job, I bought my first house and I will soon be a father. You share all those moments with your colleagues with whom you have spent 40 hours a week for the past five years. You also see those colleagues taking steps in life. That creates a special bond and that makes Trinamics really feel like 'family'. It sounds cliché, but it really is. Many peers switch jobs in the aforementioned age phase, but I chose Trinamics. It has always provided me with what I was looking for, and I plan to build my future here. Notable moments (also very cliché) are the fun trips we have made, such as Winterberg, London and Ibiza. Truly moments you will never forget.

 
If you look back to when you started at Trinamics, in what position did you start and what developments did you go through? 
I started as a Recruitment Consultant, with no experience. That is a 360-degree role in which you both help candidates find a job, but also serve clients in the field of recruitment. This went very well for me, especially with candidates coming from abroad. I have built many connections and have been able to contribute to beautiful, life-changing moments of candidates. On the other hand, I have built lasting relationships with clients that have even become personal at some point. That is why I was able to make the step to Key Account Manager at the time, where I was mainly responsible for serving and expanding my customers.
 
Due to the strong growth that Trinamics is experiencing and the divisional structure that was designed in 2021, I have had the opportunity to work as a Team Lead and to manage a team. I like to explain things to people and strategic matters have always interested me. For me the ideal step that gives a lot of satisfaction.
 
What goals do you hope to achieve within Trinamics?
Trinamics has the ambition to grow significantly internally. I started here when we still had 25 employees internally, now there are 50 and we want to grow to +-95. I would like to contribute to that growth and build a stable team. It's really nice to see something grow that you're a part of. I hope to be able to contribute within that growth, but I am sure that this will work!
