Mechanical Design Engineer Mobile Robotics

What if you as a Senior Mechanical Engineer could apply your advanced knowledge of engineering fundamentals to drive the development of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)? In this role, they would interact with diverse teams, facilitating engineering support for projects, integration, and testing activities. With their expertise, the Senior Mechanical Engineer would take the lead in design efforts, guiding and mentoring junior engineers throughout the development process.

• Define and design the autonomous mobile robots by leading the mechanical design teams.
• Design and develop mechanical components and systems including structural components, motion systems, and actuation systems.
• Ensuring that the design meets up to the requirements of performance, reliability, and safety, by analyzing and running simulations.

• Developing and maintaining design documentation, such as the specifications, drawings, and BOM (bills of materials).
• Perform tests and validate mechanical systems and components.
• Giving input for the design reviews and on other subsystems as needed.

You have to

• Staying on top of the newest innovations and trends.
• Ensure implementation of the procedures and assist in the optimization of the processes.
• Take a holistic view of product vehicle design with interchangeability and compatibility to drive product growth

REQUIRED

• MSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in designing products for mobile robotics industry
• Experience using 3D CAD Software to develop CAD models and drawings.
• Knowledge of designs for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) principles.
• Residency in the Netherlands

PREFERRED 

• knowledge of SolidWorks and its PDM/PLM systems
• Design experience with autonomous mobile robots.
• Experience with using FEA tools to verify designs
