For our business client, on of the biggest high-tech companies in the region of Eindhoven, we are looking for several Embedded Software Engineers. You will be part of a team of (embedded) software developers working on a suit of advanced software tools, used for the GoPro Hero series.


For our business client we are in search of an Embedded Software Engineer to contribute to its ongoing software development efforts. The focus of the position is on cross platform development (Mac/Windows) that spans the entire application space, ranging from low-level engine work on up to UI interactions. The successful candidate will be a creative, independent thinker who is able to produce work that is both technically sound and structured such that it marries with and seamlessly supports finely tuned systems geared at real-time video processing and editing.

In short:

  • Be part of a team which provides the cross platform foundation for GoPro's desktop applications
  • Successfully contribute to and assist in the maintenance/debugging of the existing core code base in the following areas: real time image processing and real time user interaction
  • Cross platform infrastructure in the context of multiple host OS's
  • Low-level, single platform components which fit into the above mentioned cross platform infrastructure
  • Visually and behaviorally identical, custom UI controls in multiple UI languages/frameworks in support of Core cross functional platform
  • Media file parsing and creation
  • 3rd party component validation/integration
  • Generalist, outside-the-box thinking
  • Provide input on architectural design and implementation strategy
  • Make proper use of standard version control systems (Git, CVS, etc.)
  • Rapidly assimilate new technologies and languages while successfully applying these to current projects
  • Fluently use developer tools (IDEs, Performance/Debug evaluators, version control system clients, etc.) on multiple platforms


MSc./BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science 


  • Highly proficient in C/C++ and STL
  • Experience with ARM processors and/or video processing
  • Fluent in object oriented design (OOD), analysis, implementation, extension, and maintenance
  • Proven ability to rapidly and eagerly assimilate new languages and technologies on the fly
  • Able to successfully use either a well defined PRD or a napkin sketch as a point of departure
  • Experience with the creation of heavily concurrent, real time, media-centric desktop applications (CG, video, audio, etc.)
  • Computer Science degree or substantial industry experience

Preferable skills and experience

  • Platform specific languages/frameworks: Objective-C, Objective-C++, Cocoa, C++/CLI, C#, .NET, WPF
  • The creation of systems that target multiple platforms
  • OpenGL and/or OpenAL
  • Vector processing (SSE, etc.)
  • GPU programming (Cuda, OpenCL, etc.)
  • The inner workings of common media containers (.MOV, .AVI, etc.)

Personal skills
We expect you to be a good communicator, team player, self-starter, to take initiative and to be result oriented. You have a good command of the English language, both in writing and in speech.
