Job description
We are looking for a Sensor Modeling Engineer – Automotive who will verify, validate and benchmark the physical models which are used in the physics-based sensor simulations.

Just a day during your workweek:

  • You will verify, validate and benchmark the physical models used in the physics-based sensor simulations, e.g. does the camera model correctly include all physics to simulate reflection, distortion, and lens imperfections
  • You will report and interpret measured sensor results (imaging, material measurements) from real world experiments to improve the simulations.
  •  You will work closely with the team for further improvement of the simulation framework and models
  • You will improve test variability for different scenarios
  • You will write requirements documents



  • You have completed a relevant PhD or MSc, Technical Informatics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or something which is comparable

The perfect candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • You have experience with verification and validation of simulations
  • You have good knowledge of EM radiation, especially visible light, (near) infrared and/or radio waves
  • You have several years of experience in a verification/validation function
  • You have knowledge of sensors (camera, lidar, radar, etc) and the underlying physics
  • You have knowledge of computer graphics
  • You have knowledge of materials used in sensor simulations
  • You knowledge of software development, especially C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python
