This institute is founded for research with a different scientific backgrounds and serves the purpose of making knowledge applicable for companies and governments.
This specific position is within the department of a Shared Research Center, that works on the technology development of biobased aromatics. To complement the team, we are looking for a medior lab technician. You will work on the development (gram-scale) and scale-up (kilograms/hr) of chemical processes for the production of bio-aromatic compounds.
The energy sector and the (chemical) industry are in a transition towards the use of new feedstock, the use of renewable energy, process and energy efficiency, introduction of circularity and, of course, carbon capture and re-use. The group Sustainable Process & Energy Systems works on these transitional topics. We work for- and with (renewable) energy and chemistry companies and in a network of international knowledge partners.
Aromatics are among the most important resources for the chemical industry. Currently virtually all aromatic building blocks are made from fossil oil. The Shared Research Center develops technologies to produce aromatics derived from organic waste streams. The goal: to make commercial production of bio-aromatics feasible for industrial partners by 2025. This diminishes the dependence on fossil fuel, it lowers CO2-emissions and it provides the chemical industry a profitable and sustainable perspective.
